Herbert "Jack" Ries

Herbert “Jack” Ries, age 92, a resident of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021. Mr. Ries was the son of the late John and Amelia (Bergfeld) Ries. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 60 years Joyce Bark, son Michael Ries, and his sister Doby Brown. Mr. Ries has been a resident of the south for 25 years coming from Waterloo, Iowa. He enjoyed golfing, watching sporting events, gardening, and doing crossword puzzles with friends at East Ridge Residence. Survivors include his daughter Jackie and her husband Tom Miller of Ooltewah, TN, daughter-in-law Roma Ries of Parkersburg, IA, his five grandchildren Shannon (Nelia) Ries, Megan (Tim) Ries-Hummel, Jennifer (Gene) Johnson, Ben (Mandy) Miller, Katie (Kevin) Redd, and his seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers LaVern Ries of Oelwein, IA, and Robert Ries of Sumner, IA. A private family service will be held at a later time.Read Obituary
