Howard W. Goins, age 89, a resident of Old Fort, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the family residence. He was so ready to meet his Jesus! Mr. Goins was born in Cleveland and he was the son of the late Ellen "Tiny" Carr Goins and Lozier Goins. So he has always been a hard worker to provide for his own family. He was a truck driver most of his life driving for Burlington, Cleveland Ready Mix, Bradley Concrete and Lambert Concrete. He loved driving for Lambert until his age forced him to retire. Mr. Goins truly loved animals and treated them like people. Sharing his last years with him was his dog "Baby", a spoiled rotten friend and companion that he loved so much. He also loved the outdoors. He loved family and always tried to help others in need.
