Ivan Korchak

Ivan Korchak age 77 a resident of Chattanooga passed away Monday July 8, 2019 at the family residence. Mr. Korchak was born July 13, 1942 in Ukraine. His family moved to the United States in 1991. He was married to his first wife Tatyana Korchak who preceded him in death in 1993. He became a single father until he met his present wife Stepaniya. In 1998 they moved to Chattanooga where he has lived until his death. Ivan was very active in his church serving the Lord as a choir director most of his life. He was a well-known carpenter. Ivan injured his back 42 years ago and suffered with it most of his life with the last year and four months being the worse which eventually led to his death. Ivan is survived by his wife Stepaniya Korchak, he and was the father of 9 children 3 of which passed away before him, and 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous extended family including church family and friends. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 10am Sunday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Ooltewah-Ringgold Rd. in Ooltewah with Pastor Victor Livarchuk officiating. The interment will follow at Lee Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Friday at 7:00 pm at the church.
