Bishop Jack L. Gray

Bishop Jack L. Gray, age 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 in a Chattanooga health care facility. Bishop Gray was born in Ramona, Oklahoma and he was the son of the late Faith Henegar Gray and Ben Gray. His first wife, Marie E. Wall Gray, his son in law, David McDonald, his sisters, Marjorie Stone Nadine Roberts, Wanda Capps and Louise Murray and his brothers, Pete, Charles and Tommy Gray also preceded him in death. Bishop Gray had over 60 years of service in ministry with the Church of God. He was known for his servant's heart and he pastored churches in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois and Michigan. He served on numerous state councils and state boards. He enjoyed reading but most of all, he loved studying God's word! He also enjoyed watching westerns and stories about mountain men and their adventures. Bishop Gray was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Music-Gray of Cleveland, his daughters, Melody McDonald of Lancaster, South Carolina, Debbie Ray and her husband David of Cleveland, his son, Jonathan Gray and his wife Sherry of Edgewood, Texas, his stepsons, John Music and his wife Mary of Sand Point, Idaho, Barry Music and his wife Yvonne of Burton, Michigan, Chris Music and his wife Charlotte of Baltimore, Maryland, his 15 grandchildren, his numerous great grandchildren, his sisters, Mary Hilton of Waco, Texas, Sue Drew and her husband Stan of Maryville, Washington, his brothers, Bill Gray of Monroe, Georgia, Ted Gray and his wife Charlene of Weatherford, Texas, Don Gray and his wife Donna of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Wes Gray and his wife Rosaline of Richland Hills, Texas and several nieces and nephews also survive. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 1:00 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Pastor Mark Williams officiating. For the families and friends safety, the staff of Jim Rush Funeral Homes will be following the State's guidelines on Covid-19. Masks and social distancing will be observed.
