Jack Thompson

Jack Thompson, age 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Revia Inman Thompson and Jim Thompson. His brothers and sisters, J. B. Thompson, R. L. Thompson, Charles "Red" Thompson, Herbert Thompson, Sammy Thompson, Raymond "Derby" Thompson, Betty Lou "Granny" Shamblin, Evalee Martin and Shirley Early also preceded him in death. He was employed with E & B and Shaw Industries for many years. He loved the farm life and all his animals. He enjoyed coon hunting and going to flea markets. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Samples Memorial Baptist Church.Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Thompson of Cleveland, his sons and daughters, Jimmy Leamon and Sandra Parker of Cohutta, Georgia, Debbie Leamon of Cleveland, Bonnie Crider also of Cleveland, Tony Baylock of Dalton, Georgia, Terry and Patty Thompson of Cleveland, his grandchildren, Michael Leamon of Cohutta, Georgia, Angela Bates and her husband Corey of Cohutta, Ashley Thompson and Cody Thompson both of Cleveland, his great grandchildren, Kloee Stevenson, Gracelynn Thompson and Ava Bohannan, his sisters, Joann Frazier of Cleveland, Lelia Jane Parker of Dalton, Georgia and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Reverend Mark Cameron and Reverend Mike Little officiating. Interment will follow in the Flint Springs Cemetery with Jimmy Leamon, Terry Thompson, Tony Baylock, Michael Leamon, Corey Bates, Cody Thompson and Rory Wheeler serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Thursday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
