James (Jim) Tillman Deason, 71, of Cleveland Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 3, 2021.Jim was born July 17, 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Tillman and Aileen Deason. Jim resided and graduated from Autauga public school system in 1967, served in the Vietnam War from July 1969 to January 1972. Jim was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda- Alpha Phi Chapter and graduated from Troy State University in 1974 with his Bachelor's of Science Degree. He continued his education and graduated with his Master Degree in Counseling and Human Development from Troy State University in 1978.At an early age, Jim professed his faith and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior; he was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland Tennessee where he often spoke fondly of his years of service in the children’s nursery. Jim was quick witted, enjoyed watching Auburn University football, the New York Yankees, and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim, along with his family, moved to Cleveland in 1982 and served as manager for Roadway Express and later with Service Transport.He will be lovingly missed by his high school sweetheart and wife, Sandra (Knight) Deason, their two children, Monica (Jill) Culpepper (Heath) and Shane Tillman Deason. His blessings continued with grandchildren, Kaytlin Aileen Culpepper and Tillman Hugh Deason as well as extended grandchildren, including Taylor Culpepper. Special appreciation to his dedicated and faithful caretaker, Bunniye Williams for over a year of service.A celebration of life will be conducted on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Chaplain Ted Smith and Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P. M. before the service on Wednesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 A. M. C.S.T. at the Prattville Memorial Chapel and Memory Gardens in Prattville, Alabama. Military Honors will be given. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 A. M. C.S.T. at the Prattville Memorial Chapel and Memory Gardens. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
