James "Jim" Pickering

James "Jim" Pickering, 70, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 in a local hospital. Jim was born in Athens, Tennessee and he was the son of the late Mary L. Hoback Pickering and Frederick M. Pickering. His first wife, Robin L. Pickering also preceded him in death. Jim was retired from Olin with 48 years of service, 38 of those years was in Technology. He served in the Bradley County Sheriffs Department Reserves for 10 years. He was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, TN VII. Members include active and retired Law Enforcement Officers. Beside riding his motorcycle, he also enjoyed boating. Jim was a U. S. Navy Veteran and a member of the Candies Creek Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Jo Ellen Pickering of Cleveland, daughters, Amber Pickering, Kristan Vaughan (Del), all of Cleveland, son, Ben Pickering (Megan), Chattanooga, grandchildren, Hunter Pickering, Corbin Duckett, Axton Pickering, Raylan Vaughan, brother, John Eddy Pickering, Chattanooga, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and work family and friends.The Remembrance of Life Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 6 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Stanley Gibson and Reverend Darrell Grady officiating.
