Jimmy Young, age 66, a resident of Cleveland, passed away November 16, 2020 in a local hospital. Jimmy was born in Ashtabula, Ohio and he was the son of the late Irene Harris Young and Archie Young. His son Stephen Young and his brother John Young also preceded him in death. Jimmy was a 1972 graduate of Ashtabula, Ohio High School where he played tennis, softball and basketball. He also attended Kent State University. He was retired from Olin Chemical Corporation after 25 years serving as a Environmentalist. Jimmy was a huge sports fan and he followed the Oakland Raiders closely. What he enjoyed mostly was raising his Siberian Huskies. Jimmy was of the Christian Faith.Survivors include his daughters, Erin Green of Virginia, Shannon Felli and her husband Anthony of Arizona, his sons, Anthony Young of Ohio, Christopher Young of Virginia, his 11 grandchildren, his sister, Darlene Sanabria and her husband Inocencio of Lakeland, Florida and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at a later time for family and friends. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel has charge of the arrangements. Surprised and shocked by the news that Jimmy had died. He and I worked together at Olin for about 15 years. He was a good friend and co-worker. Two memories stand out. Sometime in the 1990s, I converted a large front window to a large bay window. When the bay window was delivered, I knew I needed help to get it installed in the opening. Jimmy volunteered, and volunteered his son, and with Robert Cheek from Olin, we got that window installed. Another earlier event was when I introduced him to the Photo Doctor in Chattanooga who rejuvenated old photos and created artistic presentations. Jimmy took in a group of photos of his father in WW II. The Photo Doctor did a great job and Jimmy was pleased and very proud of the work and proud of his father. I retired from Olin 20 years ago, and had not seen Jimmy except for a couple of times passing while shopping in town. He was a good friend and he will be missed by the many friends and relatives that knew him.
