Joan Katherine Sweet

September 19, 1948 - February 2, 2022

Joan Katherine Sweet was born on September 19, 1948 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Duane and Louise Ingison. She passed from this life on February 2, 2022 in Round Rock, Texas at the age of 73. Joan met her husband of 51 years, Russell Sweet, in Pompano Beach, Florida in 1969. They were united in marriage on December 31, 1970. Joan and Russell lived in the South Florida area from 1969 to 2002. In 2002 they moved to California, residing there until their retirement in 2007. Joan and Russell then moved to Texas to be close to their kids and grandkids. They made Jonestown their home for the past 3 years moving from San Antonio where Joan was able to receive a double lung transplant. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to go shopping, gardening, dancing and spoiling her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Louise Ingison; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orvis Lee Sweet and Betty Ruth Sweet and her sisters-in-law, Linda Sue Sweet and Karen L. Sweet. She is survived by her husband Russell L. Sweet, Sr.; sons, Russell L. Sweet, Jr., and wife Maria, Chad L. Sweet and James Lynn Schaff; grandchildren, Kayla M. Sweet, Russell L. Sweet, III and Trace R. Sweet; sisters-in-law, Dottie Seward and Mary Tarrant and a cousin, Catherine Williams. The Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 11 A. M. Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel. Interment will follow in the Swafford-Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
