John Banta

January 10, 1952 - March 9, 2022

John Banta, 70, a resident of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in a local hospital. John was born in Middletown, Ohio and he was the son of the late Frances Miller Banta and Estel Banta. His grandson, Jacob Banta and his brother, Gerald Banta also preceded him in death. John was a U. S. Army and Air Force Veteran. He worked with heavy equipment most of his life and he owned and operated Banta Equipment for 20 plus years. He enjoyed his work and driving his Semi-Truck. Most of all he enjoyed being a grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Charleston Church of God where he loved going to church. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jeanette Banta, Charleston, daughters, Jennifer Ramos (Ernest), Kaiserslautern, Germany, Janelle Hoskins (Dustin), Charleston, sons, Tracy Banta (Melissa), Maryville, Tennessee, Adam Banta (Megan) Charleston, Jason Banta (Nicole), Coatsville, Pennsylvania, David Banta (Pasha), Charleston, grandchildren, Stephen Banta, Cody Banta, Austin Banta (Britni), Tanner Glassman, Ethan Glassman, Lana Ramos, Kylee Ramos, Katelyn Banta, great grand daughter, Isabella Banta, brother, Dr. Larry Banta (Evelyn), Boise, Idaho, several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 3 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Jason Banta and family sharing. Interment will follow in the Charleston City Cemetery with family serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 P. M. Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
