John W. Holmes

John “Red” Holmes age 81 a life-long resident and well known business owner passed away Sunday. He was the son of the late John T. and Ethel Allen Holmes and was also preceded in death by his sister Willie Juanita Beaty and his granddaughter Megan Weir. “Red” was owner and operator of Holmes Used Cars and also Red Hot Battery, he was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Survivors include his daughters Kim Jones and her husband Randy, Jackie Weir, his sons William Weir, Mike Kevin and Chris Holmes, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held graveside at 11am Saturday at Hilcrest Cemetery with family and friends sharing. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 until 10:30am at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave Chapel.
