Brentford, some of our Calfee Cousins have been reminiscing since Aunt Joyce has gone to Heaven, she will certainly be missed! I will never go by Gillans that I don’t think of her! Just wanted you to know that we have also agreed that you, Brentford, will be missed! Every occasion, be it good or bad, you were beside her.... For 25 years, we have watched the two of you ....lovingly we called you ......“her side kick.” What an awesome Mother and Son! Please don’t be a stranger! The Calfee’s love you!
Joyce Calfee was one of the loveliest, dearest Christian women our family had the privilege of becoming friends with. When my Dad was home bound for many years, she regularly cooked and took complete meals to Mother and Daddy. During these years, my parents and Joyce became very close friends. When Daddy passed, Joyce remained a faithful and devoted friend like no other. They visited on the phone every evening around 7, so I had to call at a different time. That was “the Joyce’s” time💓. Mother and Joyce celebrated their birthdays together, read and shared hundreds of the same books. When I was sick, Joyce would check on me. They were prayer partners for years. A tribute to a marvelous lady. I can certainly see why she was “Mother of the Year!” Well Done, Joyce! Until we meet again.
