Reverend L. Marvin Johnson, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the family residence. Reverend Johnson was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida and was the son of the late Mildred Franks Johnson and Leo F. Johnson. Reverend Johnson served 66 years in Ministry with the Church of God, Cleveland. He pastored churches in Fernandina Beach, Florida, Fort Pierce, Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, Homestead, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia and Miami, Florida. Along with his wife, he served as Missionary for 8 years in Trinidad, St. Thomas. He also served as Supervisor in Trinidad and St. Thomas and served as Pastor in St. Thomas. He served on the State Executive Board, the Youth Board and he served as District Pastor while in Florida. He also served as Cross Cultural Coordinator for South Florida. He served on the Church of God World Mission Board for 8 years and was a Mission Representative for 12 years. He was a Certified Scuba Diver and Life Guard. He was the Life Guard for many Florida Youth Camps. He also enjoyed Deep Sea Fishing. Reverend Johnson was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God.Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joella Johnson of Cleveland, daughter, Vicki Marveen Vincent (Douglas), Greenville, South Carolina, sons, Daniel Marvin Johnson also of Cleveland, Timothy Andrew Johnson (Linda), Texas, grandchildren, Brandon Vincent (Elizabeth), Rachel Vincent, Justin Vincent (Lisa), Christa Johnson, Zachary Johnson, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 P. M. Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 A.
