Mary Ellen Kennedy Wallace, age 80, a lifelong resident of Birchwood, was relieved of her struggle with diabetes and alzheimers on May 21, 2018. Mrs. Wallace was born on September 1, 1937 and she was the daughter of the late Sarah Allison Ford and Walter L. Ford. Her first husband, Herbert Herron, her second husband, Shirley Kennedy, who raised her oldest daughters as his own and gave her 5 more wonderful children, her grandson, Cody Fortner and her great grandson, Logan Kennedy also preceded her in death. Mrs. Wallace prided herself for being a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) with a passion for the elderly. She worked for many years with Life Care Center of Cleveland. She was an avid animal lover as well as the best bookkeeper for the family softball team. Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Gamble Road Baptist Church where she loved working with the children in Vacation Bible School.She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Raleigh Wallace of Murfreesboro, her children, Alice McDaniel and her husband Wayne, Jerry Kennedy and his wife Mitzi, Sherry Leamon and her husband Joe, Roy Kennedy and his wife Sissy, Barbara Tinsley and her husband Gale and Shirley Hayes and her husband Randy, her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, her sister, Helen V. Jones of Alabama, her sister in law, Carrol Ford of Ohio, her special niece, Shelia McKaig and her husband Mike and many other nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00 A. M. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Josh Cornelius and Reverend Ronnie Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bald Hill Cemetery in Hamilton County with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 P. M. Tuesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
