Mildred Ella Huffine Johnson age 93 a resident of Cleveland, went to live with Jesus Sunday July 15, 2018. She was born in Sweetwater Tennessee on May 16, 1925 to the late Benjamin F. Huffine Jr. and Mary Rose Byrd Huffine. She was the 7th of 8 children with 3 brothers and 3 sisters preceding her in death, John F. Huffine, Benjamin F. Huffine III and Robert Byrd Huffine, Mary Ruth Carpenter, Gladys Pauline Frazier and Rachel Emma Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Arlon Johnson, her infant daughter Mildred June Johnson, 2 nephews John Simmons and Robert Byrd Huffine Jr. Mrs. Johnson was a 1942 graduate of Bradley Central High School and a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and aunt. She had a kind heart and never said an unkind word against anyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Robert Gene Johnson of Cleveland, Brenda Ann Johnson of Cleveland and Nancy Gale Norman and her husband William of Ooltewah, 2 step children Gwenieth Jean samples, Jack Edwin Johnson both of Cleveland her grandsons Seth W. Oswalt of Cleveland, Shane PM Oswalt of Chattanooga and Nathaniel M. (Nathan) Oswalt of Oak Ridge, Nicholas J. Oswalt of Cleveland, Christopher A. Oswalt of Noblesville IN., step grandchildren Victoria K. Norman, Christopher Anthony Oswalt, Joe Samples, John Samples, Lisa Johnson, Christopher W. Norman, Jack E. Johnson Jr. Cody Johnson, 6 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by her baby brother, who Mildred watched over and loved, James Lloyd Huffine and his wife Ruth of Gallatin TN., along many nieces and nephews. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 3 o’clock Friday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Pastor Rick Casey officiating. The interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 until 3pm at the funeral home.
