Millard Austin Madewell

Millard Austin Madewell, age 72, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 in a local hospital. Mr. Madewell was born in Memphis, Tennessee and he was the son of the late Pearlie Emily Anderson Madewell and Austin Millard Madewell. Mr. Madewell was a brick/stone mason most of his life. In his youth, he was considered a really good athlete. He played baseball and basketball. His passion was Corvettes! He enjoyed working on cars and was rebuilding a Corvette. Active in his community, he served on the board of Agape Child and Family Services. For several years, he was a member of the Raleigh Church of Christ in Memphis where he served as a Deacon. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Bartlett Woods Church of Christ in Arlington, Tennessee. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marcie Madewell of Cleveland, his daughters, Mindy Shelby of Benton, Arkansas, Rebecca Beasley and her husband Vincent of Rossville, Georgia, his son, Andrew Jason Madewell and his wife Ximena of Aspen, Colorado, his grandchildren, Elem, Ever and Eden Shelby, Wyatt Beasley, Lautaro and Nahuel Madewell, his sister, Betty Miller and her husband Michael of Eads, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be held private for the family. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery in McDonald. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services has charge of the arrangements.
