Myra D. Turner

January 9, 1931 - April 2, 2022

Myra D. Turner, 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 in a Chattanooga health care facility. Mrs. Turner was born in Chapmanville, West Virginia and she was the daughter of the late Nora Livingston Whitman Paynter and George E. Paynter. Her husband, Ruther E. Turner, her son, Aaron R. Turner, her sisters, Regina Fonn Durham, Iris Jane Snyder, Easter Mae Paynter and her brother, Kenneth Noel Paynter also preceded her in death. Mrs. Turner was a Teacher for Cleveland City Schools serving at Blythe Avenue Elementary School with over 18 years of service. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and she was a Bible Study Teacher. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Westmore Church of God. Survivors include her daughter, Ramona Clanton (Randy), Cleveland, son, Paul Turner, Richmond, Michigan, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters, Gayle Brandenburg (Jack), South Lebanon, Ohio, Sarah Becky Griessmann, Cleveland, Blenda Trenum (Gilbert), Roanoke, Virginia, Elizabeth Lewis (Carl), Dalton, Georgia, brother, Floyd Paynter (Donna), Maine, several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life Entombment Service will be conducted on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 12:30 P. M. at the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Wendell Smith officiating. Daniel Clanton, Cody Clanton, Travis Turner, Marcus Turner, Randy Clanton and Paul Turner will serve as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 10 A. M. until 12 P. M. Thursday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
