Neljo “Sweetie” Merriman Mullins age 56 entered into her heavenly home on March 13, 2019 with her loving husband Ricky by her side. She was born in Bradley County on September 22, 1962. She was preceded in death by her father, her sister Connie Chaney, niece Lisa Lyles, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Neljo was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and attended Cleveland State Community college. She was employed by H and R Block and worked for the Bradley County Election Commission for over 30 years. Neljo was a dedicated Christian and attended Community Hall Church where she was an active member of the Dorcas Circle. She also loved her pets especially her fur baby, Angel. Neljo, affectionately nicknamed “Sweetie” by her mother, lived up to her name. She was a very kind, caring and giving person putting the needs of others before herself. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 26 years Ricky Mullins, her mother Betty Merriman, her sister Vernice Cronan and her husband Joe, brother Bart Merriman and his wife Katrina, special niece, Angela Whitly, and her husband Tony, special cousins; Linda Foster, Susan Oliver and her husband Zollie and her “little mama” Patsy DeVivo. She is also survived by her niece and nephew Amanda Gatlin and Thomas Bennett whom she and Ricky helped raise after her sister Connie passed away, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday March 19, 2019 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave Chapel with Pastor Jeannie Cissom and Pastor Quinn Green officiating. The interment will follow at Union Grove Church of Christ on Bates Pike. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8pm at the funeral home.
