Prentice "P. C." Edgemon

Prentice "P. C." Edgemon, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the family residence. P. C., as he was known to friends and coworkers, was born in Ooltewah, Tennessee and he was the son of the late Eloise Barger Edgemon and Cecil Edgemon. His son, Jonathan Edgemon, sisters, Cecilia Evans, Miriam "Mary" Stephens and his brother, Hugh Edgemon also preceded him in death. Mr. Edgemon served in the U. S. Armed Forces for 23 years including 4 years with the U. S. Navy and 19 years with the Air National Guard. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He was retired from Bellsouth with over 30 years of service. Mr. Edgemon enjoyed the outdoors including working in his vegetable and flower gardens, hunting, fishing and RVing. He was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church where he was very active for many years.Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sue Edgemon of Cleveland, sons, Brian Edgemon (Kim), Philip Edgemon (Christy) all of Cleveland, grandchildren, Gage Edgemon, Lily Edgemon, Jessica Edgemon, sisters in law, Carol Ann Elliott (Rick), Carolyn Edgemon, brothers in law, Dale Evans, Bobby Morgan and several nieces and nephews.The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 3 P. M. at the New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Eric Atkins officiating. Family and friends will serve as casket bearers. Military Honors will be given. The family request in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Friendship Baptist Church , 1344 Chatata Valley Road NE Cleveland, Tennessee 37323. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:30 P. M. Monday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
