Rachel Vines Richards, 48, resident of Cleveland, TN passed away at her home on Tuesday June 2, 2020. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. She had a passion for cooking and making new friends and, above all, demonstrating her love for the Lord to everyone she met. She was a Christian and a member of the Wounded Healer’s Ministries. She will be missed by everyone she touched in life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert Henry Houston Vines and Bonnie Lou Hembree-Vines. Rachel leaves behind her husband William Joseph Richards, Sr. (Joe), daughter, Colleen Leann Shubert; son, William Joseph Richards, Jr (Will) and his wife Candice of Cleveland; sisters Melissa Vines-Cavazos and her husband Luis and niece Kaitlyn of Chattanooga, and Carrie Vines-Cudd and her husband Benjamin (Ben) and nephew Brandon of Knoxville, TN. She also leaves behind a host of cousins and special friends. A Remembrance of Life Memorial service will be held Thursday at 10:30am at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave Chapel with Jeannie Heart officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 until 10:30 at the funeral home. A private family interment will take place at Prospect Cemetery.Read Obituary

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Rachel. There is so many memories of all of us cousins and at one time neighbors. Her red hair, her laughter and her smile was always something that I noticed of her.

As I watched the memorial video something came to my mind and that is the joy and love she showed and gave here on earth is now far greater than she could ever imagine when she entered the gates of heaven she has won her race and her reward given. I know our hearts are heavy with her passing but know that she is present with the Lord. Let not your heart be troubled rejoice that she has made it to heaven and rejoicing in the presence of God almighty. May God comfort each of your hearts give you strength and peace during this time of grief.

I am sorry that I am not able to attend the service but I will be praying for you all.

Rachel and I went to Blythe Avenue School together. I seen her from time to time here and there. She always had a smile on her face and uplifting words to say. She will truly be missed.
