Ralph A. Rogers Sr.

Ralph A. Rogers Sr., age 92, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday morning in a local hospital. Mr. Rogers was born in Cleveland and he was the son of the late Nancy Elizabeth Garrett Rogers and William Thomas Rogers. His wife, Joyce Marie Millard Rogers, his grandson, Adam Rogers, his 5 brothers and his 4 sisters also preceded him in death. Mr. Rogers served in the Merchant Marines and he also worked for Dupont for 20 years. He owned and operated Ralph Rogers Construction, building homes for more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and working in his vegetable garden. Mr. Rogers was known for growing his tomatoes which he happily gave away to family, friends and neighbors. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church.Survivors include his daughters, Sandra Rogers Gregg and her husband Donald of McDonald, Joyce Denise Queen and her husband James of Topsail, North Carolina, his son, Ralph A. Rogers Jr. and his wife Patricia of Lakeland, Florida, his grandchildren, Michael Rogers and his wife Hannah, Jonathan Rogers and his wife Karen, Kevin Gregg and his wife Deborah, Kelli Noble and her husband Louis, Angela Queen Cheek, Dallas Queen and his companion Tammy, his numerous great grandchildren, his several great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service will be held private for the family at Sunset Memorial Gardens with his son, Ralph A. Rogers Jr. officiating. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
