Joyce....in the song by the Gaithers,”Old Friends, What a find, what a priceless treasure. You were his treasure. You allowed his last years to be full of joy and happiness.
I was fifteen when we met. Friends of friends, I visited in his home and watched his family grow. I was always amazed how fast he could drop off to sleep. He would sit down in a straight chair and I would look up to hear his breathing heavy, maybe twenty seconds.
Being in the military, the family travelled to many states. Communication was by letters then. When they were back in Ohio, he always stopped by for coffee.
“A rare piece of gold” my old friend. He will be missed.
Norma
My sincerest condolences and prayers to Ray and his family. We attended basic police academy together and worked together for several years after. Godspeed ole friend.

Thanks John, I am Rays daughter-in-law Trish. His son and I were hoping to hear from some of his work friends since we really didn’t know anyone’s name. Thank you again
