Ruth Carolyn Green

Ruth Carolyn Green, age 95, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 in a local health care facility. Mrs. Green was born in Calhoun, Tennessee and she was the daughter of the late Minnie Ada Guffey Eaves and Felmet Eaves. Her husband, Ralph Green, her sister, Grace Ann Brown and her brothers, William Eaves and F. L. Eaves Jr. also preceded her in death. Mrs. Green was retired from Charleston Hosiery Mills after many years of service. She enjoyed sewing, working in her vegetable garden and quilting but most of all she loved to read her bible. Mrs. Green was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class.Survivors include her sons, Larry D. Green and his wife Carolyn of Jacksonville, Florida, Tommy W. Green and his wife Shirley of Charleston, Tennessee, her grandchildren, Alan Green and his wife Chelanne, Shonna Dillman and her husband Perry, Daniel Green and his wife Kim, Nathan Green and his wife Traci, Isaac Green and Jenny Lynn Green, her 8 great grandchildren, her 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service will be held Private for family and close friends. Reverend Toby Brogden will officiate. Interment will be in the Council Baptist Church Cemetery with grandsons serving as casket bearers. In lieu of flowers, the family request Gideon Bibles be bought in her memory by going to gideons.org or memorials may be made to the Calhoun First Baptist Church Building Fund, 107 Church Street, Calhoun, Tennessee 37309.
