Sylvia Dianne Crisco Griffey, age 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, in a local hospital. Dianne was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Griffey Pigg, her mother, Barbara Pruitt Crisco, her grandmothers, Josie Crisco and Beatrice Pruitt and her father and mother- in- law, Milton and Arvene Griffey. Dianne received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education from Lee College and she taught in the Bradley County School System. Most of all, she loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was an excellent cook! She was an avid reader, a quilter and artist. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and growing herbs. She was considered the family historian and would document the family history in scrapbooks. Dianne was a published writer and developed the Joy Belle curriculum for the Church of God. She played the piano and violin and she was a big Atlanta Braves fan. Dianne was a 49 year member of Westmore Church of God.Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Jim Griffey of Cleveland, her daughters, Andrea Shope and her husband Jamie of Woodstock, Georgia, Sarah Medlin and her husband J. Clark of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Debra Moore and her husband Josh of Kennesaw, Georgia, her son- in- law, Michael Pigg and his wife Donida, her grandchildren, J. Tucker Shope, Hannah Shope, Catherine Shope, Josie Shope, Ava Medlin, Jonas Medlin, Jonathon Pigg and his wife Mason, Matthew Pigg, Taylor McIntyre, Torrie McIntyre, Joseph Moore, Emma Moore, Bennett Moore, William Moore, Maria Moore, Dianna Moore and Andrew Moore, her great- grandson, Levi McIntyre, her father, Reverend Jack Crisco, her sister, Vickie Warner and her husband Steve of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, her sister- in- law, Lorie Griffey Gassel and her husband Brian, her brother- in- law, Terry Griffey and his wife Sonia and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, June 10, 2019, at 2:00 P. M. at the Westmore Church of God with Pastor Kelvin Page and her family officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jonathon Pigg, Matthew Pigg, Jamie Shope, Josh Moore, Chris Griffey, Brian Gassel, J. Clark Medlin, Tucker Shope, Mike Pigg, Brent Griffey, Terry Griffey and Joseph Moore serving as casket bearers. You may pay your respects from 1:00 until the funeral time at 2:00 on Monday at the church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P. M. on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
