Thidora Gibbs

Thidora Gibbs age 83 a resident of Cleveland passed away Thursday January 4, 2018 in a local health care facility. He was born December 13, 1934 in Copperhill TN., to the late Rass and Alma Cochran Gibbs. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Wanda Waters Gibbs, one brother Norman Gibbs and two sisters Eula May Green and Nora Stewart. Thidora loved to travel and was a long-time and well known gospel singer and musician. He traveled and performed with The Gibbs Family for over 48 years and then with the gospel group Recognized for 4 years. He retired from Cooks Manufacturing with over 40 years of service. He is survived by his daughter Darlene Young and her husband Randel, his three sons and their spouses Darrell and Tessie Gibbs, Steve and Teresa Gibbs and James and Robin Gibbs, 4 grandchildren Anthony Young, Mickey and Sarah Young, Jennifer and Denzil Cooper and Abby Gibbs, his great grandchildren Celia Faye and Grace Young, Maddox and Braydon Cooper, Serenity and Keegan Cranfield, his brother Harley Gibbs and his sister Anna Lou. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2 o’clock Monday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Sam Randolph and Rev. Johnny Wilcox officiating. The interment will follow at Cohulla Baptist Church Cemetery with Thidora’s grandsons and nephews serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 pm until 9pm at the funeral home.Read Obituary
