Vernon V. Holloway, 80, of Cleveland, TN, passed away, Saturday, March 9, 2019, in a local hospital surrounded by family and close friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 13, at South Cleveland Church of God. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call, prior to the service, from noon-2 PM, at South Cleveland Church of God. Vernon was born May 26, 1938 in Cleveland, TN, to John and Jessie Holloway. Vernon served in the U.S. NAVY aboard the USS Canberra. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Holloway of 52 years. He is survived by wife, Evelyn Holloway, of 4 years. Vernon was employed, and retired, from Cleveland Utilities. Vernon is survived by his daughter, Ginger Smith and husband Terry; two grandchildren, Krystle Fister and husband Anthony, Chaz Smith and wife Dana; three great grandchildren, Adrienne, Arya, and Jeremiah. He is also survived by two sisters, Cora Davis and Joyce Allmon; two brothers, Bobby Holloway and Deryle Holloway. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jessie Holloway; his son, Jeff Holloway; one sister, Frances Roberts; four brothers, Walter Holloway, Clyde Holloway, Jack Holloway and Raymond Holloway. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
