Virgil Lee "Bert" Blackwell

Virgil Lee “Bert” Blackwell age 77 a resident of Cleveland passed away July 12, 2019 at the family residence. He was the son of the late Virgil and Callie Ann Blackwell and was also preceded in death by his sister and brother in law Ann and Ott McCann his brother and sister in law Dennis and Martha Blackwell and his half-brother and his wife Ralph and Barbara Blackwell. Bert retired 10 years ago from Flowers Bakery in the maintenance department with over 17 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan and fisherman. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Margaret Blackwell, his daughters Debbie Strickland and her husband Charles, Darlene Bruggenwirth and her husband Brad, his grandchildren Niki Garcia and her husband Roberto, Shana Mathis, Karissa Fullerton and Christopher Strickland along with 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 until 2pm at the funeral home.Read Obituary
