Virgil Wade Carmen Sr. age 95 a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday February 4, 2020 in a Chattanooga health care facility. He was the son of the late Waid Carmen and Mae Bradshaw Hunt and was also preceded in death by his brothers Gerald, Paul, Danny and Wyatt Carmen. Mr. Carmen was retired from General Motors in Warren Ohio with over25 years of service. After his retirement he continued to work in the automotive industry working at various plants. He was a long time member of North Cleveland Church of God where he worked as a greeter for many years. He was a proud Veteran of the Army fighting with distinction in World War 2. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Veronica Carmen, his son Virgil Wade Carmen Jr., and his half-brothers Roy, Gene and Ivan Hunt. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2 o’clock Monday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Pastor Mitch Maloney, Pastor Mark Williams and Rev. Travis Porter officiating. Mr. Carmen will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 until 2pm at the funeral home.
