Wallace Kirby Ballew

Wallace Kirby Ballew, 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at the family residence. Mr. Ballew was born in Polk County and he was the son of the late Aline Davis Ballew and Price J. Ballew. His sisters, Maxine Humberd, Arlene Barnes, Geneva Walker, Linda Ballew, Emma McFarland, brothers, Moses Ballew and Stinnett Ballew also preceded him in death. Mr. Ballew was a minister with the Baptist Church. He sang with several Southern Gospel Quartets. He also recorded an album of favorite southern gospel songs. He was a loving husband, father and papaw. He was also a faithful part time employee of Jim Rush Funeral Homes. Mr. Ballew was a member of the Beech Springs Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher and song leader. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Edna Ballew of Cleveland, son, Greg Ballew also of Cleveland, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sisters, Naomi Patterson, Old Fort, Jeanette Casteel, Knoxville, Ann Smith, Cleveland, several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 2 P. M. Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Jerry Campbell and Pastor Larry Humbard officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 P. M. Friday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Street Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
