William "Mickey" Posey

William "Mickey" Posey, age 71, a resident Birchwood, passed away early Tuesday morning in a Chattanooga hospital. Mr. Posey was the son of the late Mary Magdeline Roberts Posey and Willard Elmer Posey. His first wife, Sarah Kathleen Posey and his brother, Charles Posey also preceded him in death. Mickey worked as a carpenter most of his life. He loved the outdoors including crappie fishing and deer hunting. He was known for caring for people and would help anyone in need. Mickey was a member of the Freedom Church of God.Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Posey of Decatur, his daughter, Cathy Posey Louis and her husband Frank, his son, Kevin Posey and his wife Renea all of Birchwood, his grandchildren, Thomas Harden and his wife Marty, Heather Harden, Katie Renea Posey and Brandon Lee Posey and his wife Brooke, his great grandchildren, Ronnie "Wayne" Thomas, Faith Harden, Elijah Harden, Salina Thomas and Dixie Thomas, his sister, Cherri Posey, his brother, Larry Thomas Posey and his wife Debbie all of Decatur, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 A. M. with Pastor Landon Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamson Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Friday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
