Wilma Kay Posey

February 14, 1949 - June 8, 2022

Wilma Kay Posey, 73, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in a Knoxville hospital. Mrs. Posey was born in Cleveland and she was the daughter of the late Nannie Myers Masengill and Frank Masengill. Her husband, James Posey Jr., her brothers, Jimmy Masengill and Edward Masengill also preceded her in death. Wilma was a 1968 graduate of Bradley Central High School. She was employed by Bishop Baking with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed the outdoors especially yard work. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Wilma was a Christian. Survivors include her daughters, Posey "Sue" Ellen Derrick (Mitch), Calhoun, Tennessee, Erica Ferry, Georgetown, sons, Mark Posey (Missy), Georgetown, Lee Posey, Athens, Tennessee, grandchildren, Harper Posey, Henley Posey, Bailey Derrick, Rylnn Derrick, also 3 more grandsons, sisters, Fay Ogle, Cohutta, Georgia, May Daniel (Stoney), Cleveland, several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 5 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel. Interment will follow in the Cofer Cemetery in Meigs County with Mark Posey, Lee Posey, Stoney Daniel, Mitch Derrick, Mike Ogle and Barry Ogle serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 P. M. Monday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
