Calvin "Lyle" Haskins

Calvin "Lyle" Haskins, age 59, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday evening, March 10, 2020 in a Chattanooga hospital. Lyle was born in Cleveland and raised on the Meadow View Farm on Spring Place Road. He was the son of the late Betty Jean Wooten Haskins and Melvin A. Haskins. Lyle was a 1978 graduate of Bradley Central High School where he played Baritone in the Marching Band and was an officer in the Reserve Officers Training Corps, (R.O.T.C.). He received his Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He worked in Retail Sales in Cleveland, Chattanooga and Atlanta. Lyle enjoyed dealing in Antiques and going to Auction and Estate Sales. He was known to be a direct, no-nonsense person but he had a funny, mischievous side. Lyle was a big fan of music particularly Jim Morrison and The Doors, The Eagles and Frank Sinatra. He had a vast knowledge of musical trivia. Lyle will be sorely missed by his brother Mark, his family and friends.Survivors include his brother, Mark Haskins of Hixson, his aunt and uncle, Linda and Jerry Clevenger, his aunt, Francis McLeod, his loyal dog, "Rascal" and his many cousins from the Haskins side and the Wooten side also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:00 A. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Youth Pastor Chuck Clevenger and his brother Mark Haskins officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Drew Haskins, Joe Haskins, Robert McLeod, Jeff Wooten, Mike Wooten and Dan Haskins officiating. The family request in lieu of flowers, Memorials be made to the Sacred Road Ministries, P. O. Box 400 Harrah, Washington, 98933, attention Chuck Clevenger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 P. M. Thursday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
