Emma Lou Presnell Ballew

Emma Lou Presnell Ballew age 97 a resident of Charleston passed away Tuesday March 26, 2019 at the family residence. She was the daughter of the late George and Hattie Young Presnell and was also preceded in death by her husband Paul M. Ballew her sister Gertrude “Trudy” Presnell and her great granddaughter Brittanie Millsaps. At the time of Emma Lou’s death she was the oldest, by age, member of Charleston First Baptist Church. She had been a member since 1955 where she at one time worked in the nursery. She was retired from Parks Belk with over 30 years of service as the lay away and credit manager. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Marcia Millsaps and her husband Rev. Harrill Millsaps, her grandchildren John David Millsaps and his wife Ksusha, Joy D. Smith and her husband Michael, her great grandchildren Katie Childers and her husband Brandon, Chris Millsaps and his wife Jennifer, Mikayla Smith, Abigail Millsaps, Madilyn Smith, her step great grandchild Nikita Coba, her great-great grandchildren Emma Grace Childers, Anna Childers and Maverick Millsaps. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 1 o’clock Saturday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Rev. Harrill Millsaps and Rev. Michael Smith officiating. The committal service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with her nephews and great nephews serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.Read Obituary
