Evelyn Gillum, age 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in a local health care facility. Mrs. Gillum was the daughter of the late Alice Jones Griffin and Adrian Griffin. Her daughter, Genise Dotson also preceded her in death. Mrs. Gillum served 55 years as an Executive Administrative Secretary with the Church of God of Prophecy International Offices and other ministry assignments. She was an avid reader and she was known for her hospitality. She loved to sew and working with Interior Design. Mrs. Gillum attended the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy.Survivors include her husband, Bishop Perry Gillum, D.D. of Cleveland, her son, Scott Gillum and his wife Brenda of Clermont, Florida, her grandchildren, Brittany Hagy and her husband Jay, Dr. Pierce Gillum, D.O., Ashley Dotson and Zachary Dotson, her great grandchildren, Brielle Hagy and Jax Hagy, her son in law, Joe Dotson of Ooltewah, her sister, Barbara West and her husband Lynn of Ooltewah, Tennessee, her brother, Tom Griffin and his wife Earlene of Bay City, Texas, her nieces, Kristi Cates and Michelle Hutcherson and her husband Destin and her nephew, Jason Griffin and his wife Shannon O'Hare also survives.The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Sam Clements, Bishop Tim Coalter, Bishop Duke Stone, Pastor Adam Jones and Scott Gillum officiating. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with David Taylor, David Riggs, Gary Glover, Mike Plumley, David Calfee and George Callaza serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Joe Parker, Kenneth Couch and Rick Creasy. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy.
