Jody Gayle Swank, age 52, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 3, 2020, after being involved in a tragic incident. Jody was born to Gayland and Joann Harold Rinne on July 30th, 1967. Jody spent her 52 years loving God and loving her family. Jody was happily married to her high school sweetheart, Mark Swank, her husband of thirty years this past January. Together, they raised four beautiful, amazing girls. Whether it was homeschooling her daughters, cooking wonderful meals at every family gathering, or generously giving advice and encouragement whenever it was needed, Jody was always seeking to love and bless her family. As many can attest, Jody served a motherly and meaningful role in more than just the lives of her own children. For several years, Jody worked as a Certified Birth Doula, where she passionately served women and their families through the childbirth and postpartum process. Jody was an incredibly selfless, considerate, and caring wife, mother, and friend. Her family and all those who love her are thankful for the assurance in where Jody is now - finally at rest in the presence of her Lord. She loved God, and that deep faith fueled her love for all of those around her. She will be missed by many, especially her family. Jody is preceded in death by her mother, Joann Rinne; brother, William Rinne; and nephew, Ivan Rinne. She is survived by her husband, Mark Swank and four daughters: Haley Seera (Travis), Jayla Swank, Savanna Stewart (Graham), and Josey Swank. On Monday, July 6th, a community visitation will take place at the Church of God Headquarters Prayer Garden. The funeral will be held in Monroe, Michigan on Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at 11am at the Stewart Road Church of God. For those wishing to assist financially, the Church of God Youth & Discipleship department has set up the Jody Swank Memorial Fund.
