Ralph Lamar Bankston age 85 a resident of Cleveland passed away November 17, 2018. He was the son of the late Clent Bankston, his mother Hattie Reed Bankston and his step mother Edna Bankston. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Bob Bankston, Calvin Bankston his sisters Polly Hutsell, Gladys Gibson and Dot white and his daughter Vickie Bankston. Ralph was a long time employee at C and H Market on North Lee Highway and also worked at the Burger Market. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and attended Bellfounte Baptist Church. He was also a true and avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. He is survived by his daughter Julie Smith and her husband Jackie, his son Brian Bankston, his grandchildren Jeremy Smith, Nina Richards and her husband Andy, great grandchild Jaelyn Smith. He is also survived by his brother Alvin Bankston, his sisters Betty Kay Richmond and Joy Dixon and his special friend Mary Jane Casteel. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 5 o’clock Monday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel. The committal service will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Casket bearers will include Travis Anderson, Jeremy Smith, Michael Floyd, Jeremy Conners and Steve McAmis. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 until 5pm at the funeral home.Read Obituary

Julie, I know we haven't seen each other in over 40 years but I remember you from my youth. I wanted you to know how sorry I was to hear of your dad's passing. Rest in the promise of the Lord that you will see him again one day. God is good even unto the end. Praying for you and your family.
