Dr. O’Bannon was the most selfless person I have known and his passionate love of God and Christ, fired his desire to share and spread God’s love and word to every soul he could reach.

Ross Barnett,

Dr. O’Bannon, you were truly one of a kind. I hope you know just how incredibly helpful you were to so many of us students, helping us achieve our dreams. You truly were proud of all of us, and that made each of us feel special. I remember visiting Lee for the first time and meeting you! You were confident you could get me into medical school, and you did. I will never forget your lectures and enthusiasm for your material, and your wonderful facial hair and glasses :) God Bless, we will see you soon.

Thank you Dr.O’Bannon for your dedication to God and your students. You are one of my favorite people to have a privilege to know. You taught me one life lesson I will never forget. You were teaching at Lee and working at the hospital at the time, and I was your student in the science dept. and happened to be in your office talking with you and you got a call asking you to volunteer to do something. Of course you said yes even though it would stretch you more. I learned that day that busy people get things done! I learned what it means to give back, not only financially, but of your time, which you had little to spare. I learned to be efficient with my time and spend it wisely, and to make a difference! Thank you for your teaching, your Godly example, your friendship, and just knowing you cared. I Love You!

Dr. O'Bannon was one of my favorite college professors. He had such a gift of teaching a subject, any subject in fact, and making it quite interesting no matter what the subject was. He and his wife admirably were huge pro-life supporters as well. My condolences to his family.

Dr. O'Bannon was already a legend when I went to Lee College in 1977-78. After takeing Dr Paul Conns Psychology 101, my next favorite class was Dr. O'Bannoms Science and the Bible. My father graduated from Lee collage around the time Dr. O'Bannon came to Lee College as a student. My daughter graduated from Lee Universty. Dr.O'Bannon retired as she was beginnig her freshman year. Three generations of my family were blessed to know him. However it was my older sister who graduated from Lee College with a chemistry degree who spoke so highly of him and Nancy. Most touching is finding out he was also a minister and was involed in mission work In 40 other countrys. Myra Cagle-Zavodny
